For Christoph Rath, founder and operator of the initiative MEISTERSTRASSE together with his wife Nicola, the "Master's Tables" celebrated a successful debut last winter:"It was a great challenge for us to set up tables in Angela, Hotel Gasthof Post and Hotel Aurelio in a particularly luxurious way. Because of course, these five-star and five-star superior hotels are already very well equipped themselves." Nevertheless, however, products such as glassware from the traditional Viennese company Lobmeyr were very well received by the guests, as the initiator remembers:"Not only the expected good cuisine was a big topic of conversation in Lech, but also the table culture".
A nice side effect, by the way, was that none of the precious pieces had been broken - which, apart from the care taken by the hotel staff, speaks for the quality of the products:"These are not only works of art that are simply placed in the showcase and then bequeathed sometime, but have proved that they are really suitable for gastronomy".
The "MEISTERSTRASSE in Residence" celebrated its fifth anniversary in 2017. Last winter, the 20-year-old town twinning of Lech am Arlberg and the North Sea municipality of Kampen was also celebrated, including with an original fishing boat at Rüfiplatz, so there was a successful overlap here: The North Frisian goldsmith Christoph Freier presented his craft in the "Alpenrose Zürs" as a personalized combination of Arlberg, Sylt and the MEISTERSTRASSE.
Nicola and Christoph Rath drew a very positive conclusion about the "MEISTERSTRASSE in Residence 2017". Not least because the concept of offering an alternative offer for winter guests has become more and more popular over the years:"The original idea was to present selected craft businesses and manufactories with so-called" living workshops "to the guests in their respective hotels. Last winter, however, we were able to observe that not only holidaymakers hiked from one hotel to another, but also a Vorarlberg resident from the valley went to the Arlberg to visit our partner businesses and to have a look at custom-made shoes or traditional costume fashion, for example ".
In Feabruary and March, MEISTERSTRASSE will once again be making a guest appearance in Lech am Arlberg and will present its Master's Tables again in addition to selected craftsmen and manufacturers.
